Let's connect!

Helsinki, Finland - September 14-17, 2026

Meet Marjan & Joachim at NORDROCS 2026

Our colleagues Marjan & Joachim will be representing iFLUX at NORDROCS 2026 in Helsinki, Finland, from September 14 to 17.

  • On Wednesday, September 16 (11:45-12:05, Restaurant hall 3), Marjan will present "Flux-based assessment of PFAS migration: an industrial groundwater case in Belgium," based on a joint investigation by iFLUX and AECOM at a multi-source industrial site.

NORDROCS is the 10th Joint Nordic Meeting on Remediation of Contaminated Sites, organized jointly by Nätverket Renare Mark (Sweden), MUTKU (Finland), ATV Jord og Grundvand (Denmark), Miljøringen (Norway) and Fumis (Iceland). The conference brings together researchers, consultants, contractors, laboratories and regulatory authorities working on contaminated site management across the Nordic countries and Europe. This year's programme places particular emphasis on PFAS compounds, tightening legislation, the new Soil Monitoring Law, and the digital opportunities emerging in soil and groundwater management.

Why this event matters

PFAS presents a specific challenge for site investigation. It is persistent, highly mobile in groundwater, and subject to a regulatory landscape that keeps evolving. Concentration snapshots alone often can't tell you whether contamination is actually migrating toward a sensitive receptor, or how that changes across seasons. In a recent industrial case in Belgium, flux measurements showed that despite elevated PFAS concentrations in shallow groundwater, migration to the deeper aquifer was negligible, and the calculated impact on a nearby river stayed below regulatory concern. That distinction supported a No Further Action decision.

As Nordic and European regulators tighten PFAS requirements, this kind of evidence is becoming a more central part of the conversation, which makes NORDROCS a fitting place to discuss it.

Discover the future of PFAS flux-based assessments

Marjan will share how flux data added a line of evidence to a PFAS investigation that concentration data alone could not provide.

  • Real-time sensing solutions: moving beyond static measurements to dynamic, digital groundwater and contaminant monitoring.
  • Patented flux samplers: providing accurate data on contaminant mass flux to support risk-based decisions and better-targeted remediation.
  • Data-driven insights: helping site owners, consultants and regulators make informed decisions on PFAS-impacted sites, backed by evidence rather than assumptions.
