Coastal Groundwater: Advancements, Innovations, and Emerging Technologies

Innovative groundwater flux sensor network as a tool in managing saline intrusion and pollution risk control for a drinking water utility in The Netherlands

The prominent Dutch drinking water utility Dunea, which is revolutionizing its groundwater management of the coastal aquifers at their extraction in Sollevelt, has entrusted us (iFLUX) to deploy our network of fifteen flux sensors and 30 telemetry-linked (third-party) sensors across their extraction areas. This enables Dunea to monitor groundwater flow velocity and orientation to accurately control the watershed between the sea and their extraction zones, eliminating the potential risk of saltwater intrusion and the spread of a landfill leakage of a WOII plume. In this presentation, the project manager Jeroen will dive deeper into the challenges and results of our collaboration with Dunea.

Sustainable groundwater management: Evaluating measures and strategies for enhancing the buffering capacity of groundwater

MAR at a drinking water utility: adding innovative real-time groundwater flux measurements to the equation for increased resilience and sustainability.

Join Goedele and Niels to learn how the largest drinking water utility in the Netherlands is innovatively balancing water extraction and infiltration in the nature reserve of Epe. We'll showcase our use of real-time data from the iFLUX groundwater monitoring network to optimize water production and preserve the environment. See how advanced monitoring supports sustainable water management and helps address challenges in the agricultural and natural sectors.

Why meet?

iFLUX brings visibility to groundwater dynamics, enabling optimal groundwater management.

We help manage complex groundwater challenges for cities, conservation and nature parks, the remediation and construction industries, and drinking water companies.

We merge state-of-the-art technology with profound expertise to deliver actionable insights based on objective data.

iFLUX has designed patented groundwater sampling technology to track groundwater contamination. Additionally, our iFLUX Sensing Solutions combine leading commercial sensors and external data with unique vertical and horizontal flux sensors, creating the most effective real-time digital monitoring networks.
