As climate change and pollution increasingly threaten our limited freshwater resources, protecting groundwater has never been more urgent. With around half of our drinking water coming from groundwater, iFLUX helps enable its sustainable management through innovative, service-oriented solutions.

To support our growth, we are looking for a Business Development Manager who actively explores the markets, positions our service-oriented solutions commercially, and helps build a healthy growth strategy for the future.

How does your role look like? 

In this role, you will research, develop, and enter new markets where our solutions can make a difference.
You put our services on the map with the right target groups.
You convince through insight, listen to needs, and know how to turn a conversation into a concrete proposal. You follow the entire process – from first contact to deal – and remain a sparring partner for our clients afterwards.

Specifically, this means:

    • The successful candidate will identify and develop new markets for our service-oriented solutions.
    • Conduct outreach, networking, and lead generation within a B2B and B2G context.
    • Guide the entire sales process: from first contact to quotation, proposal and negotiation.
    • Research and evaluate product-market fit, and translate market insights into concrete proposals.
    • Help translate our value proposition to sector-specific needs and contribute to developing our commercial strategy.
    • Work in an environment where much is happening, bringing focus without losing sight of the goal.

What do you bring?

Language & Location

Experience & Background

  • Educational Foundation: A university degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a closely related technical field, to ensure technical credibility with senior engineers and regulators.
  • Industry Domain Expertise: At least +8 years of professional experience within the environmental sector, specifically focusing on hydrogeology, contaminated land remediation, or drinking water utilities. Hence, you have the technical credibility to steer specification sales and lead conversations with consultants, regulators, utilities and implementation partners.
  • Network: A proven track record of working within or directly selling to environmental consulting firms and/or drinking water utilities.
  • Track Record of Commercial Traction: You have successfully taken early-stage pipeline or pilot projects and converted them into structured, long-term commercial contracts. Experience managing a complex B2G sales cycle is considered a bonus.

Core Commercial Competencies

    • Technical-Commercial Communication: You can explain technical solutions in a clear and commercially relevant way and can communicate convincingly with diverse stakeholders, from technical experts to decision-makers.
    • Regulatory & Public Sector Fluency: You have a good understanding of Belgian and/or Dutch environmental legislation and experience navigating relationships with regional environmental protection agencies, public stakeholders, and/or drinking water utilities.
    • Strategic Relationship Building: You know how to manage strategic accounts and build long-term relationships based on trust and technical credibility.
