Let's connect!

Stockholm, Sweden - September 16th - 18th, 2026

Meet Joachim at NORDIWA 2026

  • Our colleague Joachim will be representing iFLUX at NORDIWA 2026 in Stockholm, from September 16th to 18th.
  • On Friday the 18th, Tom Bastiaan of Vitens will present Managed Aquifer Recharge: Evidence-based operations through real-time groundwater flux monitoring, built on work done together with iFLUX at Vitens' MAR site in Epe, the Netherlands.

NORDIWA is the leading Nordic conference for drinking water professionals, organised jointly by DANVA, FIWA, Norsk Vann, Samorka and Svenskt Vatten. The conference brings together water professionals, operators, city planners, researchers and advisors from across the Nordic region to discuss the practicalities of producing safe drinking water, in English, over three days in Stockholm.

Why this event matters

Managed aquifer recharge helps drinking water utilities buffer droughts, protect ecosystems, and increase operational flexibility, but it comes with conditions attached. At Vitens' site in Epe, in the Veluwe region of the Netherlands, operators need to demonstrate microbiological safety through subsurface retention time, while keeping abstraction balanced against infiltration under permit constraints. In heterogeneous glacial deposits, where preferential flow paths can dominate, that balance is harder to prove with periodic sampling alone.

NORDIWA brings together the utilities and regulators across the Nordic region who are grappling with similar questions about water security and permit compliance under a changing climate, making it a fitting forum to share how continuous flux monitoring supports that evidence base.

Discover the future of groundwater Sensing

At NORDIWA, Joachim will share how iFLUX supports utilities managing aquifer recharge and abstraction with continuous, real-time data:

  • Real-time Sensing Solutions: Moving beyond periodic sampling campaigns to continuous, digital groundwater flux monitoring.
  • Aquifer Intelligence Workflows: Combining flux data with piezometric and operational data to link pumping decisions to subsurface response.
  • Data-Driven Compliance: Helping utilities demonstrate retention time and permit compliance with evidence rather than assumptions
